5 Ways to Build Quick Brand Credibility 

You don’t need a million followers or a fancy achievement to build some street cred as you build your business. 

I know this because I built a massive global business without the above.  The online space is noisy today but that doesn’t mean we don’t contribute. In fact, it’s the opposite. Our truth, authenticity and courage is needed more than ever before.

Here are 5 ways to build instant credibility and trust with the people you’re here to serve. Plus a few screenshots/examples from my own brand.



Do you know anyone who has a successful business or brand who would give you a character testimonial? Ask them. Who else do you know? Also once you start working with people, if they have something nice to say about you or if they thank you for helping them, ask if you can use their words on your website or within future marketing. 

Here are two graceful ways to ask.

A) How to ask a successful friend who can speak to your character:

“Hey Y. I’m just updating my (website/sales page/social channels) and I was wondering if you would be so generous to write a sentence or two about my personality and/or work in the world? I know you’re busy. I would be so grateful and can even draft something up if it’s easier. Jen xx”

B) How to ask a current client or customer:

“Hey X. I know you mentioned you (were happy about the course I ran/had great results with Y product.) Would you be ok if I shared your words as a mini testimonial on my updated website? I would be so grateful.”

Add some to your website asap if you don’t have any. Here’s an example from my site.

Forbes business magazine said the #1 way to build your business is through storytelling. This will require you to practice being vulnerable and courageous.

This is also one of the easiest ways in my opinion to build trust. What are you really here to talk about? Your intention every day should involve wanting to be as helpful as possible as you build your business and often times storytelling is part of the work we’re here to do. Our stories inspire and transform, quickly.

As you grow as an entrepreneur and a human you’ll collect all sorts of mini parables to tell within your workshops, courses, social media posts etc. Stories of how you did Y, transformed from X to Z etc.

Sprinkle stories in everywhere! Your About Page is a great place to tell a story p.s!

A clear core message 

When someone visits your social media page or your website do they know what you do? What you stand for? This can be authentic and fun and true to you (and it should be) but it should be clear.

I feel like this is getting lost today with social media turning into a haven for people to project their fears. 

Clean this up. 
A little less judgement, reaction and/or fear spewing. Definitely not an energy of “What can I GET from my clients". You are here to give and serve.

We need MUCH more kind energy. If it’s not kind, it’s really NOT helpful.


When someone visits your social channels or your website, do you have free value for them? When they opt in to your newsletter, what do you give them? Do you have a ‘free stuff’ section on your site? Blogs? Audios? Value is the core of your business. Create it consistently and watch your business soar. 

On the front of my website for example I have lots of free value.
